Yard Pest Treatments: What to Ask Before Service

Yard pest service should begin with the pest you are trying to manage. Mosquitoes, ticks and fleas have different habits, and one application should not be assumed to cover every outdoor pest.
Discuss the property before treatment
- Identify the areas where activity is occurring and how you use them.
- Point out play equipment, pet areas, gardens, flowering plants and water features.
- Ask which pest and areas the proposed service targets.
- Review preparation, access restrictions and the expected follow-up.
Know when people and pets can return
Use and re-entry directions depend on the product label and application. Ask for those instructions before service and follow them. Professional application does not make every product harmless, and treatment cannot guarantee that nobody will be bitten.
Support the service with prevention
Remove standing water where practical, maintain the yard and follow appropriate personal bite-prevention guidance. Pet flea and tick protection should be discussed with a veterinarian. Tell the technician about previous applications or persistent activity so the plan can be reassessed.
