After a pest-control visit, use the instructions provided for your particular service. Cleaning, access and follow-up requirements can differ by treatment and product. Ask the office to clarify anything that is unclear.
1. Follow Cleaning and Re-Entry Instructions
Do not rely on a general 24- or 48-hour rule. Confirm when people and pets may return to treated areas and which surfaces may be cleaned. Follow product directions and the instructions provided for your service.
2. Keep Agreed Follow-Up Appointments
Your estimate or service agreement defines the selected work and follow-up. Ask what monitoring or further visits are recommended, what is included and whether additional charges apply.
3. Manage Food and Moisture
Continue storing food securely, cleaning spills and addressing leaks. Ask about cleaning any treated location before disturbing it.
4. Discuss Entry-Point Maintenance
Damaged screens or door seals may need attention. Confirm appropriate repairs and preserve necessary ventilation and drainage. Avoid disturbing installed monitoring or treatment equipment.
5. Report Continued Activity
Results and timing vary. Note where and when you see pests and contact the office if activity continues or you have concerns. Do not assume increased activity is always normal, and do not add another pesticide without discussing compatibility and label instructions.
6. Review Your Ongoing Needs
A standalone service may be appropriate for a selected concern. Recurring or combined services should reflect the property and agreed scope. No schedule guarantees that every pest will remain absent.
