Signs of Roach Infestation: What to Look For

Look for Evidence, Then Confirm Identification
Possible signs of cockroach activity include live or dead insects, droppings, shed skins and egg cases. Record where you find them and photograph a specimen when practical. An unfamiliar odor, damaged packaging or missing food alone does not identify the pest.
Different cockroach species have different habits. An assessment can help distinguish an occasional invader from an indoor population and guide the next steps. See UC IPM’s cockroach identification and monitoring guidance.
What You Can Do Now
- Keep food in closed containers and clean up crumbs and spills.
- Address plumbing leaks and unnecessary moisture.
- Reduce clutter that makes inspection and cleaning difficult.
- Tell your technician about sightings, locations and any products already used.
Discuss Treatment and Follow-Up
Plank Termite & Pest Control offers cockroach service based on the pest and property. Your estimate and service instructions explain the recommended work, preparation and follow-up. Monitoring helps evaluate progress; one visit is not a promise that activity can never return.
