Stored holiday decorations in Lebanon deserve a quick check before they are packed away and when they come back out. Containers protect belongings only as part of a plan that also addresses rodents entering the storage space.
Inspect containers and belongings
Look for gnawed edges, damaged lids, shredded material or droppings. A plastic tote is not automatically rodent-proof, and shelving does not prevent a climbing rodent from reaching it. Keep containers accessible enough to inspect and avoid packing food or edible decorations with other belongings.
Check the storage area

Do not dry sweep or vacuum rodent waste. Follow CDC cleanup guidance and ask about professional help for extensive contamination. Do not use chewed electrical light strings; have damaged wiring or electrical equipment assessed appropriately.
