Honey bees are pollinators that live in colonies. A cluster or colony near a building needs identification and a location-specific response.
Identification and habits
Honey bees produce wax comb and store honey. A temporary swarm clustered outdoors is different from an established colony inside a wall or other cavity. Avoid assuming every flying insect near a roofline is a honey bee.
What to do at your property
Keep your distance and do not spray or seal an occupied entry on your own. Ask about identification and whether a beekeeper or appropriate removal professional can help. Established comb in a structure may require separate removal and repair planning.
