Early Bed Bug Signs: Evidence and Inspection Steps

Possible bed bug signs deserve careful identification. Rust-colored stains, dark spots, shed skins, eggs or live insects may prompt inspection, but no single mark on bedding proves an infestation.

Where to look

Check accessible mattress seams, bed-frame joints and nearby upholstered furniture. Photograph suspicious evidence before disturbing it. Do not take apart electrical fixtures or move large furniture unsafely to search.
