Cockroach Concerns: When to Request Service

Address recurring cockroach sightings promptly so the pest can be identified and the source investigated. The response should match the species and evidence rather than a general assumption about every roach.

Useful first steps

• Photograph a sighting and note its location and time.
• Store food securely and clean spills and waste containers.
• Report leaks and accessible gaps.
• Reduce cardboard and clutter that block inspection.

Why identification matters

Different cockroaches use different hiding areas. A technician can assess the insect and related evidence, discuss monitoring and recommend targeted service. An unexplained odor alone cannot establish the species or extent of activity.

Coordinate with the treatment plan

Tell Plank about products already used. Ask what preparation is needed, which areas will be addressed and how progress will be checked. Do not add sprays around bait placements without discussing their effect on the selected plan.

In a rental or shared building, notify the responsible manager so inspection and access can be coordinated. Ask what follow-up is included and when to report continued sightings.

Keep food and moisture prevention part of the routine after service. A practical plan combines the findings, property conditions and the work agreed in your estimate.
