Bed Bug Identification and Property Tips

Bed bugs are small, blood-feeding insects that hide near sleeping or resting areas. Identification should come from physical evidence, not a pattern of skin marks.
Identification and habits
Adults are oval and brownish, and immature stages are smaller. Live insects, shed skins, eggs or characteristic spots may guide inspection. Other insects and unrelated stains can be mistaken for bed bug evidence.
What to do at your property
Photograph suspected evidence and ask for an inspection and preparation plan. Avoid moving uncontained belongings between rooms. In a rental, notify management. Seek medical advice for concerning symptoms; pest identification and medical diagnosis are separate tasks.
